Commercial Properties recently received an award for environmental initiatives in the areas of Community Involvement, Composting and Recycling. CPL provides composting services to their tenants as well as recycling of paper, plastics, metals and batteries. The annual awards breakfast hosted by Sustainable Saint John celebrates businesses who are working to reduce their environmental impact and promote a sustainable culture in the Saint John region. Recipients are awarded plaques with leaves representing environmental practices and activities as reported in the Sustainable Saint John Evaluation and Toolkit . Members of the organization share their experiences in improving the sustainability of their businesses.
Commercial Properties Limited has recently completed a major redevelopment of the property at 10 Wellington Row, going from parking lot to prime location in under 8 months. Boiler Replacement at Brunswick House Brunswick House, one of the centerpieces of Saint John’s uptown skyline and home to several major financial, legal and consulting firms, has a new heating plant. Commercial Properties has replaced the two fifty-year-old boilers in the basement with Lochinvar Crest high-efficiency condensing boilers that use natural gas to provide cost-effective heat to all corners of the property. The Red Rose Building was built in 1903 as a tea packaging facility, and has been a landmark gateway to Saint John’s uptown for more than a century. It is now repurposed as an office building, home to financial and business professionals. As an historic property, the Red Rose Building requires a lot of love and care. Designed by Murdock & Boyd Architects and being constructed by our sister company, FCC, the project is on track for Fall 2016 completion. The classic look of the building is now evident, blending in with a heritage streetscape, directly across from Saint John’s oldest brick building.
